Mrs. Jean Elaine Kissock

Jean Kissock passed away peacefully Wednesday surrounded by her three children. Jean was born in Butte, Mont. She was the only child of Vernon W. Tippett and Mary Jane Craddock Tippett. She was preceded in death in 2000 by her husband of 54 years, John "Jack" Kissock, also of Butte. They had three children, Connie Jean, David John and Robin Lynn. The family relocated to Eugene, Ore., in 1963 and then to Portland in 1969. Jean was a registered nurse. She completed nurses training in Helena, Mont., going on to a varied nursing career ending as Director of Nursing at a Portland Convalescent Center. She had many talents among them her musical abilities. She was an accomplished pianist. She played piano in a band in the 50's, always at family “sings” and in church throughout the years. She taught her children to sing in harmony, accompanying them on piano. Jean is survived and beloved by her three children, Connie Schweppe, David Kissock and Robin Kortum. She has eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A service to honor Jean will be held at 1 p.m., Oct. 20, 2019, at Finley Sunset Memorial and Mortuary, 6801 S.W.
