Ethel Marie Evans, age 85, passed away on July 26, 2019 at Kutztown Manor with her family by her side. She was a loving family woman who cherished her three sons, four grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
Ethel was born in Reading, PA on April 9, 1934. She graduated from Reading High School class of 1952. She spent much of her adult career working for the Baker’s and Confectionery Union at Mrs. Smith’s pies until she retired after more than 25 years. Of her many hobbies, Ethel had special interest in reading and writing poetry.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husbands, Kerry S. Hoffman and Thomas E. Evans. Also preceding her death was her oldest son, James S. Hoffman. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey S. Evans of Reading, PA, and Thomas Evans and his wife Sheena-Marie of Venice, FL.
A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Thursday August 01, 2019 at 1 pm at Auman’s Funeral, 390 West Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. She will be laid to rest following the service at Forest Hills Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Wednesday July 31 from 6-8 pm and on Thursday from 12-1 pm at the funeral home.
