Obituary of Louise Edwards Hamilton
Louise Edwards Hamilton was born in Louisville, Mississippi on September 24, 1928. She was the eldest of five children born to Bernice and Auston J. Edwards. She graduated from Louisville High School and from Clarke College, where she worked in the dean’s office and was voted Miss Clarke College. While at Clarke, she met William R. Hamilton, and they married in 1947. Louise and Bill made their home in Jackson. She worked for over 40 years for Thrasher Architectural Products where she served as purchasing agent. She was an active member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, and following their move to Ridgeland at Ridgecrest Baptist. She participated in the Women in Construction organization and in Eastern Star and the Ridgeland beautification committee. She was also an accomplished seamstress. She and Bill enjoyed traveling and made many trips to California to visit their daughter and her family there. Louise was fortunate to have a large and supportive family including sisters Jimmie Sue Hatcher, Ann Covington, Joyce Springer and her brother Joe Edwards and their spouses. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Hamilton and son-in-law Derry Seaton, of Redondo Beach, California, her granddaughter Megan Seaton and grandson Grant Seaton and his wife Karly, and great-granddaughters Olivia Genel and Emerson Seaton, also of California. She is also survived by her three sisters and sister-in-law Marylee Edwards. She was predeceased by her husband Bill and her brother Joe. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
