Luigi G. Pradella

Mr. Luigi G. Pradella, age 85, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Luigi was born on June 12, 1933 in Godega di Sant’ Urbano, Italy, son of the late Giovanni Battista Pradella and Teresina Pradella. Luigi was full of laughter and spirit. He was a great chef, gardener, Italian Stallion, friend and speaker of the truth. At the age of sixteen, Luigi stowed away on a ship and made his way to Australia. After being there for a few years, he returned to Italy. After only twenty-one days of courting Ms. Elda Puccioni, the two were married and created countless memories together. Luigi and Elda, made their way to the United States, where they settled in New York. Luigi worked in several top restaurants in NYC including The Pierre. Eventually, he and his family settled in the Hudson Valley where he opened his own restaurant, Chianti, which was a great success. In his spare time, Luigi enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, cooking, making wine, cheese and spending time with his family. A great animal lover, Luigi could always be found going for a walk with his dogs. Along with his parents, Luigi is preceded in death by his wife, Elda Pradella; and two brothers, Renato Pradella and Pietro Pradella. He is survived by his two daughters, Luciana Pradella, husband Rick Tapia of Atlanta, Georgia, and Marinella Pradella, husband Romeo Buongiorno of Italy; three grandchildren, Marcella Tapia, Angela Buongiorno, and Andrea Buongiorno; a great grand-daughter Jada Borin, a nephew, Mauro Pradella; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Luigi Pradella will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning, on Monday, May 13, 2019 in the Chapel of Roswell Funeral Home. A reception with the family will follow the funeral services in the Reception Center of Roswell Funeral Home.
