Margaret Ann Rechif
September 16, 1943 – August 8, 2019

Margaret Ann Rechif passed away on August 8, 2019. She was born September 16, 1943, in Tampa, Florida while her father was training as a B-26 bomber pilot in WWII.
Margaret was predeceased by her father, Richard H. Rechif, and her mother, Hope Helen Brimhall Rechif. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara H. Fowler (David), Mary Jane Card (Bill), and her brother, Richard H. Rechif, Jr. She had seven nieces and nephews.
Margaret graduated from Brigham Young University with a major in Elementary Education. She was a respected teacher in the San Francisco bay area for over 35 years and contributed to nationwide math textbooks. She was active in her church, serving among other things, as the Relief Society President. She was also active in the Democratic party, serving as a Utah delegate and followed in her mother and grandmother Brimhall’s footsteps as a champion of women’s rights.
Margaret was an avid reader, sometimes reading two or three books at a time. She studied creative writing and was an accomplished poet. She followed current events closely and rarely missed a news story. Margaret excelled at engaging in meaningful and compelling conversation.
Funeral Services will be held at the Brickyard Ward, 1111 E. Charlton Avenue in Salt Lake City on Saturday, August 17th. The viewing will start at 10:00 and the funeral at 12:00.
