Eugene Olson

It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Olson announces his peaceful passing on October 5th, 2018 at the age of 95. Eugene was born October 25, 1922 to parents Alfred and Lucille Olson and raised on the family farm near Dundurn, Sask. On August 20, 1954, Eugene was united in marriage to Marvel Walrath of Hawarden, Sask. They continued to farm in the Dundurn area. Shortly life changed as six children entered the family. Anyone who knew Eugene saw his passion for attending auction sales and that started his collection of hundreds of cars, trucks and whatever had wheels. This seemed to continue for years and years. If he was not home we all knew he was at an auction sale of some sort.Our Dad never retired as such. As long as he was capable of driving and going to the farm he did. Eugene spent the last few years at a care home in Saskatoon due to his inability to walk.Eugene was predeceased by his wife Marvel of 35 years, parents Alfred and Lucille Olson, and all his siblings - five brothers and one sister; Gerald Olson, Lawrence Olson, Reir Olson, Conrad Olson, Ken Olson and Betty Hunter. Eugene is survived by his children; Barry Olson (Connie), Bev Rondeau (Paul), children -Shara, Janelle and Karlyn. Valerie Czarnecki (Chip), children Dale and Jackie. Madeline Olson, children - Lee, Dion, Tyler and Kristy. Marilyn Baraniecki (Barney) children - Chelsea. Garnet Olson (Joni), Children Brandi, Lynsey and Clinton. He is survived by 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Eugene is also survived by sister- in- laws Mary Olson, Phyllis Walrath. Brother- in- laws Doug (Elaine) Walrath and Jack Reilly.
