Obituary of Kenneth Goldsmith
Wayne passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 70. Wayne is survived by his wife of 47 years, Theresa, son, Ken (Sydney) and sister, Jean Fenton (Wesley). Also surviving are grandchildren, Bailey, Alexandra and Carter. Wayne was predeceased by his mother, Lois, father, Kenneth and son Terry. Wayne was born in Morden, MB on June 14, 1948 and later moved to Madsen, ON at the age of 8 where he finished High School and took his Electrician Apprenticeship. In 1979 the Goldsmith family moved to Allan, SK when Wayne began working at the Allan potash mine. Wayne had a very successful career and made many, many great friends over his 33 years at the mine. Wayne retired in 2014 and still kept up daily coffee meetings with friends from the mine until this past fall. Wayne is lovingly remembered for his generous smile, sharp wit and love of playing practical jokes. Wayne enjoyed working in his garage, gardening, watching movies and camping. Wayne was a very loving, patient and thoughtful grandpa and will be deeply missed by his grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Acadia McKaugue’s Funeral Centre in Saskatoon on Wednesday May 8th, 2019, at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. Interment will be held at a later date. A special thank you to all of the staff at SPH Palliative Care Unit and dear friends Merv Ronson, Lou Leray, Rendle Miller and Wayne Hagle for all of their help in caring for Wayne and Theresa.
