Earl Lewis

Earl “The Pearl” or “Lou” Lewis, age 64, was born August 7, 1955 to the late Thurman Lewis Sr. and Esther Mae Harrington Lewis in Augsburg, Germany. He was raised in Seaside, California and attended Monterey High School in Monterey, California. Earl served his country in the United States Army Air National Guard and was deployed to the Middle East for Operation Desert Storm in 1990. In 2008, Earl retired from Halliburton Energy Services after a successful career traveling the world. Even in retirement, Earl remained active. He enjoyed spending his time with friends and family, volunteering his time to causes that support disabled veterans and attending his granddaughter’s sporting events. Earl was raised in the church and truly loved the Lord. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the Usher Board. Anyone that knows Earl knows that he loved his friends and family. The bonds that Earl developed throughout his life were more special to him than anyone can know. Earl was a genuine and loving person who never met a stranger. He always brought a smile to your face and could always make you laugh. Earl was a self-less and giving person whose door was always open for anyone in need. Earl is survived by one daughter, Janelle (Shawnee) Lewis-Brown; one granddaughter, Kennedy Ellis; his companion, Saundra Smith; two brothers, Thurman Lewis Jr. (Brenda) and Geoffrey Lewis (Kirsten); four sisters, Ethel Mae Bailey, Cynthia Williams (Michael), Cecilia (Cece) Hunley, and Barbara (Bebop) Hamilton (William); three aunts, Millie Barrett, Leola Harrington, and Barbara Thompson (James); plus a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceeded in death by his father, Thurman Lewis Sr.; mother, Esther Mae Harrington Lewis; brother-in-law, Kenneth Bailey and grandson, Karim Earl Lewis.
