Joy Sue Whitten age 76, passed away on June 21, 2019, at her home in Sikeston, MO.
Born January 29, 1943, in Vanduser, MO., to the late John and Olivia McDonald Engram Sr.
On March 6, 1965 in Vanduser, MO., she married John Whitten, who survives of the home.
She was a member of Vanduser Church of Christ, where she was a classroom teacher, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Scott County Central All Schools Foundation, the Scott County Central Booster Club, the Master Gardeners Organization, and the Scott County Women in Agriculture.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jason and Alexie Whitten of Sikeston, MO., and Johnny Whitten of Sikeston, MO.; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Engram Jr. of Sikeston, MO.; two sisters and two brother-in-laws, Jan and Johnny Wilson Jr. of Sikeston, MO., and Joann and Darrell Nichols of Sikeston, MO.; five grandchildren, Savannah, Eli, Olivia, Alex and Hannah Whitten of Sikeston.
Visitation will be Sunday June 23, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. where the funeral service will be held on Monday June 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO., Dan Richardson, pastor of Vanduser Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.
Pallbearers will be Trey Wilson, Cole Williams, Isaac Engram, Terry McDonald, Gary McDonald and Kyle Karr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Eli Whitten, Alex Whitten, Kyle DeKriek, Jerry Lathum and Joey Heckert.
