Ronald MacRae

It is with great sadness, that the family of Ron announces his death on July 5, 2018 at Extendicare, St Catharines. Best friend and soul mate to Joyce, wife of 62 years, Ron was a devoted father to Debra MacRae and Janet Arcadi (deceased 2009), “best ever” grandpa to Megan, and caring father-in-law to Jim Arcadi. Ron is predeceased by his brother Blair (Doris), of Calgary. In addition to family and friends, Ron enjoyed tennis, cycling, skiing, walking, Bridge, and spending July in Southampton. Ron graduated from UBC in 1955 in Forestry and was employed with MacMillan Bloedel (40 years). Ron was kind, friendly, wise, funny, compassionate, and irreverent. As the “Master of Asking People Questions,” he always listened carefully to their replies. Thank you to the staff at LHIN, Linhaven Day Care, and Extendicare for their care, comfort, and dedication to Ron. In keeping with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
