Obituary of Kenneth B Tindall
Dr. Kenneth Bruce Tindall was born in Miltonville, Kansas on September 28, 1928 and graduated to heaven on April 9, 2019 in Sun City West, Arizona. Kenneth was born at the home is parents, Waldo and Velma (Bruce) Tindall. He was the son of a country preacher and came from a long line of preachers and teachers. He spent many summers with relatives in Iowa, eventually settling in Los Angeles, California. He attended school in Los Angeles, California, graduating from Washington High School in 1947. He later went on to complete two Master’s degrees. One was completed at California State College in Los Angeles, the other at the University of Southern California. Continuing his education at the University of Southern California, he received his doctoral degree in education in 1968. Kenneth had a distinguished career in education. After several years as a classroom teacher, he progressed through several administrative positions from Principal to eventually the highest honor of Superintendent. He was He was principal and later Assistant Superintendent of Business in Rowland School Distract, California, he later accepted a position as Assistant Superintendent of Business in Pacific Grove and New hall Elementary Districts in California Kenneth then became Superintendent of Tulare Unified School District and Fontana Unified School District, both also in California. Retiring from Fontana in 1985, Kenneth and his family moved to Carefree, Arizona to begin yet another life adventure. It wasn’t long before he was consulting and filling in as Interim Superintendent for several school districts throughout the state of Arizona. In between his educational consulting jobs for Arizona, the State of California had him fil in vacancies on an Interim basis as well. Kenneth spent 32 years in Education for the state of California and 10 years as an Educational Consultant for the state of Arizona. He is listed in the WHO’S WHO BIOGRAPHICAL RECORD OF SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICIALS for 1976. Kenneth was an active member of the Baptist church in the communities where he resided. He was on the Board of Trustees for Masters College in Newhall, California from 1968-1972. He serviced on the Board of Trustees and Beacon Boards of his church. He believed in family, and was devoted as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved children, which came from being raised in a large family and spending his career as an educator. One of Kenneth’s sayings was: “Family comes first” Kenneth married Paula Ann Johns, and they were married for 67 years. Their 68th anniversary would have been in May 2019. They shared many adventures together, camping, boating, fishing, and hiking. Kenneth loved the outdoors, animals and people. With his large genuine smile, he rarely knew a stranger. But most of all, he loved his family. Kenneth Bruce Tindall is survived by his wife, Paula Ann (Johns) Tindall of Sun City West, Arizona; his daughter Carolyn Chenault of Sun City West, Arizona; His daughter Caitlin Ann Shepherd of England, Arkansas; his grandson Joseph Kenneth Odekerken of Mesa, Arizona; his grandson, Jonathan Edward Stinebaugh of Scottsdale, and his long awaited great-grandson, Jeremiah David Odekerken of Mesa, Arizona. Kenneth passed as his home with family around him. He will be greatly missed. But we are all blessed to have had him as part of our lives.
