Klaus Horst Gunter Thuricke

Klaus Thuricke was born May 1st, 1935 in Berlin, Germany. As a young man he came to Canada by ship in 1957 and landed in Montreal, Quebec but couldn’t find work, so travelled by train to B.C and settled in Kitimat. He found work with Alcan. His wife Hannelore joined him 6 months later. Irene, his first born arrived in 1958, then son Michael in 1959. The family moved to BC in 1968. Klaus got employed by BC Hydro as an Electrical Technologist. He retired from there in 1995. His wife Hannah passed away at age 42 in New Westminster in 1977. Klaus married Margaret in 1978 and spent 40 wonderful years together travelling, cruising and living 6 months in Yuma, Arizona during the winter months. He passed away in Honolulu, HI October 15th following a massive stroke. He had ten days on the cruise ship doing what he loved best, travelling. He was an excellent tennis player and won many senior trophies. His love of Barber Shop Music knew no bounds.
