Carol Diane Froese

Carol was born in Kingston ON, and after a few moves with her family, settled in Stratford ON where she attended high school. Later, she had a distinguished academic career, earning Bachelor’s degrees in psychology and biology, followed by a PhD in biology. A talented scientist, Carol held the position of Senior Research Associate, Cell Biology, at the Sick Kids Research Institute in Toronto. Carol had a wide variety of interests, many involving the natural world. An avid traveller, she visited many countries across virtually every continent. Passionate about good food, she was esteemed for her culinary skills. Carol leaves her father, John Froese; her siblings, Robert Froese and Elizabeth Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews, and her husband John Riley. She was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn (Black) Froese. She was deeply loved by them all, as she was by many friends. The loss of Carol is incalculable, and she will never be forgotten. A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held at Trull Funeral Home & Cremation Centre,1111 Danforth Ave. on Saturday July 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre, Mt. Sinai hospital, or a charity of one’s choice.
