IN THE CARE OF
Funeraria del Angel South Lawn & South Lawn Cemetery
The matriarch of our family, only a few rare women fall into this category. Tina Salcido, our mother, carried and embraced the authority that came to her as she aged and used it to lead her family.
It is with great sadness that the family of Tina Salcido announces her passing at the age of 94 years. Tina will be lovingly remembered by her children, daughter Diana (Jim) Goolsby, son’s Rudy (Lila), Armando (Karen), Bill (Yvonne). Tina will be greatly missed by her 18 grand children, 21 great-grand children and 2 great-great grand children. Tina was predeceased by her husband Eligio Salcido of 32 years, companion Trunfo Lopez, son Gabriel Lazance (Alex) and daughter Sandra Salcido Bates.
Tina (Mom) exemplified courage, strength, respect and love. Her hand, though heavy and hard at times was guided by the tender hand of truth. Her lips and words were fashioned to make you feel more loved despite the infractions involved. She taught all her family to do the right thing no matter how painful. When you sat with her to receive advice, her words were bold, blunt and tore deeply into your heart to where her sacred tears would teach you to stay true to yourself. She taught you to never allow others to make you feel any less about yourself.
Tina knew how to behold her spirit for she sought it in the heart of life. She experienced being a stay at home mom and wife; she became employed at the Santa Cruz Chili Factory in Amado, AZ, was a corn tortilla demonstrator for the Tumacacori National Historical Park. She adventured in learning a second language (English) at a late age. She also learned to drive later in life accomplishing to receive a driver’s license. Boy, how she loved to take her grand children on rides and visit her friends!
Tina Salcido, took a little while, a moment of rest on April 14, 2018 – she will be forever preciously remembered as a gift that shall be kept in the canyons of our hearts.
