Virginia Lee Turner

Virginia Lee Turner, age 84, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Virginia was born August 8, 1933 in Sterling, Colorado to Allen and Hazel Geer. She had 4 siblings; John Geer, Loyd Geer, Janice Turner, and baby Maxine. Maxine passed away from RH factor as an infant. She spend some of her childhood in Mississippi before moving to Tucson at age 14. While she was living on the south side of Tucson on Pennsylvania & 6th she met Kenneth Turner. Virginia and Kenneth married on November 25, 1951 when she was 18. Virginia was a Sunday School Teacher at Mission Park Baptist Church while she raised her children. She also had many trophies from being on two different bowling leagues. She usually made highest average. Her and Kenneth won champions undefeated every time. She was always a loving persona and her children and friends loved her. Everyone loved coming for her great food and sweets that she made. During Easter, she prepared all the food for more than 80 family members during her and Kenneth's Easter parties. Everyone wanted her to bake their cakes so she made many wedding cakes for her family. Other talents included making clothes for her children, crocheting and quilting blankets, and many needle work projects like Kleenex box covers and dollies that she loved giving to family and friends. In the early 1950s, she even helped Kenneth build the family home. When she wasn't working on her talents or teaching Sunday School, Virginia babysat many children, often up to 14 days in length. Everyone thought she was the greatest babysitter for their children. Her 5 children are Cathy Levison, Kerry Turner, Keven Turner, Arian Turner, and Sharon Bowers. Her grandchildren include Ginger, Robin, Johnny, Troy, Casey, William, Tiffany, Joshua, Sabrina, Cliften, Amanda, Alana, Brent, Tara, and Jada. She also had 13 Great-Grandchildren. Virginia will be missed by all of her family and friends.
