Wallace Marvin Lewis

Born in Canada to on February 1st, 1929, Wally was a skilled, loving, proud, and feisty Norwegian. His dad, Carl, got a job as a construction worker building the Grand Coulee Dam (1935 - 1942). The family followed him. Later on they moved to the Spokane area and Wally worked at his brother's gas station. He then bought his own dump truck and moved around following construction. He married the mother of his children Patricia, continued to move around following construction work. In 1958 they decided to put their roots down in Olympia. They bought a house and acreage in the Boston Harbor area. There they kept busy clearing land, building barns, and fences. Whether he was gliding around the dance floor, working with heavy equipment, training his horses or caring for his many pets, he was a talented man. His smooth moves on the dance floor, raising and showing horses were only surpassed by his ability to build roads and operate heavy equipment. He retired from the Operating Engineers. In his retirement he enjoyed playing poker and watching sports. His favorites were the Mariners and Seahawks. Wally was preceded in death by the mother of his children Patricia and his daughter Susan. He is survived by daughter Kathi (Rick), son Skip (Tineke), grandsons Richard (Jeanelle), Tom (Janel), Tony (Stephanie), and granddaughters Anita (Erik) and Katie (Matt), as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
