Augusto Chies

Chies, Augusto April 27 1931 – Feb 28 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Augusto a wonderful Husband, Father, Nonno, and Great Nonno. Augusto passed away at the age of 87 surrounded by his family on Feb 28 2019 in VGH hospital. Born in Italy in the town of Cordignano Traviso on April 27 1931 he moved to Canada in 1957. He soon settled in Vancouver, married and raised his family while working construction. He will be remembered for his corny humor, his gardening bounties and overall devotion to his family. Augusto is survived by his wife Giuseppina, his children Aldo(Lori), Linda, Frank(Laurel), Grandchildren Stefani(Nico), Tanya(Matt) Sara(Pawan), Neil(Sarha), and Amberly(Christopher), Great Grandchildren Matteo, Ottavia, Roman, Carter, Monica and Ari. Viewing and service to be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home at 306 E 11th Ave Vancouver Viewing to be held on March 22 from 6 to 8pm Service to be held on March 23 at 11am, immediately followed by a reception.
