Obituary of Eleni (Helen) Dikeakos
We are heart broken to announce the passing of our beloved mother and Yia Yia, Eleni Dikeakos in Vancouver, BC, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving children. Eleni was born in Vogatsikon, Greece and immigrated to Canada in 1957. Predeceased after 65 years of marriage by the love of her life, Niko, her brothers Christos and George, and sister Anastasia. Survived by her family, her cherished children, Alexandra (Mike), Chris (Lisa), Dimitria (Alan), Maria (Robert) and her adored eleven grandchildren, Nikolas (Maria), Amanda (Matthew), Kate (Joseph), Nicholas, Paulina, Alexa, Christina, Eleni, Alan Jr., Joseph, Michael and her two precious great-grandchildren, Mateo and Mila. Eleni will also be missed by her two sisters, Thomae (George) and Dimitra along with family and friends. Mom truly was our best role model of everything that was kind and good in this world. It was a life with much admiration and love from all the people whose lives she touched. Special thanks for the compassionate care she received at Cottage Hospice. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 8, 2019 at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4500 Arbutus St. Vancouver, BC. Father Constantinos Economos officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or The Bloom Group Cottage Hospice. May you rest in peace Mama.
