OBITUARY Wendy Chew-Eng Pang NOVEMBER 13 1923 – MARCH 28, 2019 PANG, Wendy Chew-Eng passed away peacefully on March 28, 2019 in Vancouver, BC at the age of 95 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Pastor Teck-Soon Pang and is survived by her children, Jonathan (Sylvie), Lawrence (Pauline), Grace (Leonard), Samuel (Andrew), and seven grandchildren, Melissa, Catherine (Tommy), Melanie, Andrew, James, Warren and Morgan. Wendy's belief and trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ led her to always share her faith with others. She will be remembered for her love for her family, her self-sacrifices for their children, engaging with her grandchildren and willingness to help other people in need. No matter the circumstances or the challenges faced by the family, Wendy was always a source of strength and encouragement to many. Born in Xiamen, China, she accompanied her late mother, Kim Kheng Tan, when they emigrated from China to Singapore in 1937. After graduating from high school at the Malayan Seminary in Singapore in 1941, she trained and subsequently worked as a nurse midwife from 1942 to 1949 at the Kandang Kerbau Women's & Children's Hospital in Singapore, and thereafter worked at the Youngberg Memorial Adventist Hospital in Singapore from 1949 to 1976. She immigrated to Canada in 1976 with her late husband when he was called to pastor the Seventh-day Adventist Chinese congregation in Vancouver, B.C. While in Vancouver, she worked for two doctors in their respective medical clinics until her retirement in 2000. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday April 5, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM and internment at 3:00 PM at the Capilano View Cemetery, 1490 Third Street, West Vancouver, BC.
