Marjorie Clare Campbell

Passed away peacefully on May 6, 2018 at the Priory Hospital in Langford. Marjorie was born in Kingston, Jamaica on April 8, 1932. She and her family immigrated directly to Victoria in 1975 and began to integrate seamlessly into her church and community at large. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, friend, grandmother, great-grandmother; and was very active in parish life and volunteering at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Langford. She was a spiritual mentor and helped to make a positive difference in many lives. Marjorie studied nursing, worked at the Priory hospital for about 13 years, as well as praying for and being with the dying in their final hours up until her severe stroke. Predeceased by Carl Henry Campbell, her beloved husband of 64 years. Marjorie is survived by her eleven children: Marguerite Burke, Carla Munro, Sharon Polack, Bernadette Bird, Beverly Ann Dowling, Roger Campbell, Maureen McNeil, Janet Ferguson, Patrice Demers, Brian Campbell, Diana Foreland and twenty-one grand children and eighteen great-grand children. The family wishes to specially thank Dr. Thomas Bailey, her dedicated physician. We are also extremely grateful to the many live-in care givers who lovingly cared for our mother over the past 12 years. More recently, thanks to the caring staff at the Priory Hospital. Viewing and Prayers will be held Thursday May 10th, 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M., at First Memorial, 4725 Falaise Drive Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 11th at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 798 Goldstream Ave, Langford BC. Reception immediately following in the church hall. Interment at Hatley Park Memorial Gardens, 2050 Sooke Rd. at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to donate to the Canadian Red Cross or Victoria Hospice.
