Obituary of William Larry Fults
William Larry Fults, age 76 Passed Away on Saturday August 31, 2019 at 7:26 PM in Hesperia. DAD was born January 9, 1943 in Temple, Texas to Jewel Lee and Vivian Russel “Bill” Fultz. DAD is survived by his wife, Katherine Louise Candy Fults; and their children Katherine Elaine Turrey, Ievonne Louise Harris, William Larry Fults II and Candy Lynn McDermott-Drymon; and 14 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; and 2 little fur kids. He was preceded in death by; Father Vivian Russel “Bill” Fultz, Mother Jewel Lee Fults, Sister Nancy Vandelinde, Nephew Kevin Vandelinde and grandson Jeremy David Ryan Turrey. DAD was born and raised in Temple, Texas and served in the National Guard as a Tank Driver in the 49th Armor Division from 1964 to 1968 and then switched to Airborne Ground Transportation in California until 1971. On July 14, 1964 Dad met Mom, his Wife of 54 years Katherine Louise “Candy” Lewis during a Greyhound bus ride to Fort Knox. Candy was traveling with her Mother Mertie Wiggs to Tennessee. Exactly one year later they were married on July 14, 1965. DAD worked in the grocery business for 45 years, retiring in 2004 from Ralphs Grocery after 35 years as a produce manager. Dad enjoyed all things mechanical and gardening. After his retirement he worked for Home depot, selling and putting together lawnmowers and edger’s. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and you could always find him at Walmart adding to his Hot Wheels collection. DAD had a surprising sense of humor that would catch you off guard if you were not ready for it. His sarcasm and quick wit never left him even up to his last days. He was a private person from the outside and showed a hard shell, but to the contrary was a very loving and caring person who would talk to you for hours once he let you in, as long as he could hear you. DADs’ love for his family, automobiles and yard never wavered, even through the last couple of years. He had come to know the Lord near the final trials and tribulations of his life and was accepting of prayer and ministry.
