Barry Bangsund passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2019. Barry joins his parents, Gilbert and Nora Bangsund; in-laws, Ephrem and Angela Fradette in heaven. Barry leaves behind his beloved wife and companion of 46 years, Jean. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children, Jayna and Anthony Hankins, Tyler Bangsund, Melissa and Darren Dyck; his cherished grandchildren, Kayl, Maysa, Kyley and Corbin; siblings, Gerry (Dave) Dobson, Fay (Dave) Buchanan and Cindy (Fred) Morrice; nieces and nephews, Justin (Andrea) Morrice, children, Brody and Brandon; Nathan (Jenn) Morrice, children, Kaitlyn, Kallie and Max; Deana Matheson, children, Taylor and Makayla; Aaron Dobson, child, Jackson; Ashley (Jen) Dobson, children, Dallyn and Cace; and Chantal Buchanan. He also leaves to mourn many members of the Fradette family and a network of close friends. Barry was a very humble, hard-working man who loved spending time with his family. There was no other place he would rather be than on his farm with his cattle. He was a generous man who was proud of his community and supported numerous community functions, especially the local 4-H clubs. He was a valued Councilor for the RM of Lomond for 28 years. He also served on many boards and organizations in the community.
A celebration of Barry’s life was held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace United Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The service was officiated by life-long friend Crystal Bailey. All family and friends gathered for lunch following the service in the Grace United Church Upper Hall. A private family interment was held at Maxim Cemetery.
