Gregory Allan Guest

Gregory Allan Guest was born on March 19, 1948 in Radville, SK. He was the second child born to Lyle and Inez Guest. The family resided at Clearfield, SK. until 1953 at which time they moved to a farm 4 miles North of Trossachs, SE 3-9-17-W2. Greg lived and worked on this farm until his passing on November 4, 2018 at the age of 70 years. He took his education at Trossachs and finished his high school in Yellow Grass, SK. As a young man, he had various jobs, mostly helping local farmers. On October 2, 1971 Greg married Betty Ann Moore of Trossachs, SK. At this point Greg and his father, Lyle, farmed together. After Lyle passed away, Greg took over the farming and dairy operation. He shipped cream until 1995 at which time he sold the dairy quota and milking cows. To supplement the farm income Greg drove school bus. For 29 years, he transported students to Trossachs and then Yellow Grass, this ending in 2002. Following this he was employed full time at Western Prime Meats from September 14, 2004 until January 1, 2015 helping in all aspects of the operation. Greg loved farming, cattle and his family. In the last 7 months, when Greg's health began to decline, he was able to continue on through support from family and friends. Greg saw his cattle go to pasture, planted some garden, helped with seeding and harvesting, saw his cattle come home from the pasture and managed his own daily activities. He passed away peacefully where he always wanted to be, at home, with his cattle and family. During the 47 years of marriage he also helped raise 4 children, Patrick, Michael, Timothy and Elizabeth. He especially loved all 7 grandchildren, Jada, Jackson, Megan, Aiden, Evan, Wyatt and Liam. Greg led a very meaningful and active life up until his passing. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace United Church with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating. Interment will follow in Trossachs Cemetery, Trossachs, Saskatchewan. Donations in memory of Greg may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic or the Heart & Stroke Fopundation of Saskatchewan.
