Mary (nee Golub) Peris

Peris, Mary (nee Golub) August 4, 1925 – February 20, 2019 Passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Windsor Regional hospital, Metropolitan Campus. Reunited with her beloved husband Nick (1995) and her son John (Debbie) (2015). She is also predeceased by her parents John and Ana Golub and her sister, Ann Chorney (2015) Mary leaves behind her two heartbroken daughters Mary Ann (Steve) Zokvic and Caroline (Branko) Tomicic. Adored grandmother to Karen (David) Ann Marie, Anthony (Andrea), Carolin and Michael (Michelle). Cherished Baba to Victoria, Nicholas, Andrew, Alyssa, Katherin, Josh, Aidan and Natalie. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, USA and Croatia. Born in Sosice Zumberak Croatia and immigrated to Kirkland Lake at the age of 14. Mary Eventually settled in Windsor where she and her husband Nick were proud owners of Paris Confectionary in Walkerville for over 25 years. Mary was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania for over seventy years (Lodge 638 Windsor). Deepest appreciation to the care team at Bayshore, St. Elizabeth and to the nurses on the 7th floor at Met Hospital for their compassionate end of life care. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. at the Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte St. E Windsor, ON). Visitation will continue the next day Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 9a.m followed by a celebration of life at 10a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre Foundation.
