Obituary of Emile Horace Brabant
Forever Remembered It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, Emile Brabant at Grace Hospital on April 29, 2019. Emile’s memory will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Pattie Brabant; sisters Isobel Mourant and Leonie Olcen; brother Fr. David Brabant P.S.S.; many nieces and nephews and his dear friend Jane. He was predeceased by his father Moise Brabant, his mother Emma (McDougall), infant brother Henri, brother Maurice (Moe) Brabant, sister-in-law Pat Brabant, brother-in-law Noel Mourant and Jim Olcen. Emile was born and raised in St. Vital, Manitoba. He spent most of his working life as a heavy equipment mechanic for Hugh Munroe Construction and Fenwick Construction Company, working in various remote areas of Western Canada. He was tough and enjoyed working in the great outdoors, in any kind of weather. He was a private, quiet man but always had a smile on his face. We will always remember his mischievous grin. In the last few years, Emile was very fortunate to have a special friend re-enter his life. Jane played a great part in his happiness and well-being and we thank her for that. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10:00am at Green Acres Funeral Home & Cemetery, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Father David Brabant officiating.
