Ernest Adrien Rousseau

You will be missed and loved forever in our hearts and through-out our remaining time on earth. It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ernest A. Rousseau, with his family by his side, at the Golden Links Lodge following a lengthy illness at the age of 86. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Cecile (nee Milette). His sons; Rene and George Rousseau and his daughter; Adele (Alexander) Akoulov. He will be remembered lovingly by his three grandchildren; Andre, Alexei, and Antoine. His brother; Raoul (Therese) and his sisters: Lorraine and Doreen. Ernest will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; Antonio and Marie-Anne, sister; Henriette, Noella and Fabiola, brothers; Georges and Fernand, daughter; Rachel and grandson; Justus. Ernest worked for Bird Construction for 27 years. He loved Montreal Canadiens, Johnny Cash, John Wayne, cribbage, bowling, family life, loved to watch the classic movies and time spent at the cottage. He loved to travel with George to many of his events at the Manitoba Special Olympics, seeing his son Rene during football, hockey and baseball games. Ernest loved to visit Saskatchewan to see his daughter Adele and Alexander with her three sons; Andre, Alexei and Antoine. Most of all, Ernest enjoyed spending ALL summers at the cabin in Albert Beach with his wife Cecile and son George. He had a good sense of humour and always left the family with smiles and laughter. Prayers for Ernest will take place at Green Acres Funeral Home; Hwy #1 East at Navin Road on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church; 135 John Forsyth Rd, Winnipeg. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Golden Links Lodge Care Home staff for all their care and support. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice and memorial flowers may be sent to Green Acres Funeral Home.
