Forever Remembered ROLF FRIEDRICH SAGER was born in Europe on October 4th 1926. He left this world to be with his heavenly Father on the 7th of December 2018. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Donna (Zubert) in 2000 on Christmas Eve and previously by his parents, Pauline and Friedrich. When he lost Donna his life became an empty shell, but the love for Donna lasted in his memory forever, and now they are together. In 1942 Rolf accepted Jesus Christ as his personal saviour. In 1948, as a young man, he left the ruins of West Germany with his mother at his side to seek a better life in Canada. He worked as a car mechanic for Grant Motors from 1948 until his retirement. He enjoyed his work and the people he worked with. In 1953 Rolf met his sweetheart Donna Zubert and married her 2 years later in 1955. Throughout the years they were happily married and did a lot of travelling together to faraway places. When at home, he loved watching hockey on television and working in his garden. Each year his garden was loaded with tomatoes and vegetables of every variety to share with friends and family. There was always a friendly competition with other gardens for the first ripe tomato or the size of a harvest. Rolf also had time to study the bible and was an avid reader of world history with a diverse library in his house. He loved music and taught Sunday School earlier in the Church. He enjoyed bowling in a league organised by a group from church. He hardly missed a game night and, of course, enjoyed a good score. There were also many picnic days to Hecla Island or a trip to Kenora for a boat cruise. He loved nature and the forest on a beautiful day. He made many friends throughout his life and had wonderful neighbours who astonished him with their kindness. We will miss him for who he was and how gifted and knowledgeable he was.
