Joyce H Sweet

Joyce H. Sweet, 95 Winter Haven- Joyce H. Sweet, age 95, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019. She was born November 29, 1923 In Peru, IN the daughter of Orville Hawkins and Treva Huffer Hawkins. She and her family moved to the Winter Haven area in 1925. She graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1941 and then attended Tampa Business College. Later she became a Legal Secretary. Joyce was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church. She was a Charter Member of Planters Garden Club and Charter Member of the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club. She was an avid Bridge Player and loved tending her flower garden. She enjoyed spending summers at the Grandfather Country Club in North Carolina. Joyce was married to her late husband James W Sweet for 60 years. He preceded her in death October 28, 2009. In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was also preceded in death by daughter Cynthia June Sweet, sisters: Phyllis Nethers and June Cooney and brother: Robert Hawkins. She is survived by her son: Rodney Robert Sweet. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10am at the Hope Presbyterian Church, Burial to follow in Lakeside Memorial Park.
