Frances M. Slota

Frances Magdalene ( nee Yostrum ) Slota was born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, one of ten children to Martin & Mary Yostrum. She attended Plymouth public schools and later worked as a factory seamstress. In her early 20’s, she moved to Yonkers, NY, where she met and on August 20,1955, later married Martin J. Slota. The couple settled in Yonkers and raised two children. Frances lived as a homemaker and had many friends and acquaintances. Frances is predeceased by her husband Martin and siblings Elizabeth Romanisin, Sophie Palandra, Andrew, Joseph, John, Mary D’Inzillo, and Edward. She is survived by sisters Helen ( “Judy” ) Pingatore and Josephine Palandra; children Martin Jr and Frances ( & Russell ) Reiners; granddaughter Shannon Reiners and numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday & Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Casimir’s Church on Tuesday May 7th at 10am.
