Thomas A. Devany

Thomas A. Devany, 93, formerly of Yonkers, NY, passed away at his home on Friday June 21, 2019. Tom was born in Yonkers to the late Augustine and Katherine (Stasko) Devany on December 14, 1925. He married Rosemary (Langan) on December 4, 1948 in Yonkers where they raised their three children. He lived in Yonkers until 2006 when he and his wife moved to Fishkill, NY. Tom was a veteran of WWII (401st Combat Engineers) and attended New York University where he also played football. For 40 years he was a member of the Steel Lather’s Union, Local 46 in NYC. Tom was predeceased by his loving wife Rosemary and is survived by his daughter Pamela (Christopher) Burkart of Somers, NY, son Brian (Eileen) of Cortland Manor, NY and son Keith (Lori) of Fishkill, NY. He is also survived by eight grandchildren Christopher Scott (Diane) Burkart, David Burkart, Kristen (Donald) Orsen, Erin (Jason Tornatore) Devany, Heather (Stephen) Marchese, Diana Devany, Kelly (Matt) Marino and Katelyn Devany and Gregg McConnell. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, Ian, Shane, Ava, Nicco, Savannah and Rocco. Visitation will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday June 25th from 9am to 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Christ the King Church on North Broadway, Yonkers at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
