Macy Ruckart

Macy Adelle Ruckart, 25, of Landis, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 as the result of an automobile accident. Her warmth, beauty, tremendous sense of humor and the love she had for her entire family will be missed by those she leaves behind.

Macy was born January 7, 1996 in Charlotte, NC to James “David” Ruckart and “Cheryl” Diane Nye. She moved to Landis with her family at the age of 5. Macy attended Landis Elementary, Corriher-Lipe Middle School, South Rowan High School and East Carolina University. Macy enjoyed many years of playing youth softball in Landis. She also played soccer, swam for the swim team and was a member of the band at South Rowan High School. She enjoyed the being outdoors, especially in the water. Either while on her boat, named “Miss Macy” on Lake Norman or spending time at the ocean or many swimming pools, she was in her element when she was in the water. Her most recent passion was to pursue a career in healthcare as a social worker or youth counselor.

Those left to cherish her memory are her father, David Ruckart of Landis and mother, Cheryl Nye of Little River, SC; brother, Jim Ruckart and his wife, Catherine of Advance NC; sister Maggie Ruckart of Myrtle Beach; half-brother, Juren Nye of Charlotte; stepbrother, Noah Ellis and stepsister, Hannah Ellis of Myrtle Beach. She also leaves behind her grandparents, Linda Hoyle of Indian Trail NC and Betty Nye of Little River, SC; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and close extended family and many dear friends.

A Gathering of Friends and Family Celebration of Macy’s life will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 4:00 – 6:00pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested you kindly remember Macy with memorials in her honor to Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital, 1000 Blythe Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
