Dad, it has been 553 days sine you've gone and I think the fact that knowing you're really not coming back is just beginning to sink in. It still feels like you should be walking through my door with a Pepsi in your hand and lighting up the room. But lately there have been just glimpses of moments when the reality of it hits me like a hot sharp knife in my heart. They are just glimpses, but they are there now where they were not before, and I wish they weren't. Because before I could always picture you alive out there somewhere on THIS earth. And now, that's getting harder to hang onto. I miss you so much. I will always treasure the week we had together in the hospital, mostly talking about nothing and drinking milkshakes. I miss you beyond words dad. You were the salt in my life and now that you're gone, nothing has any flavor anymore. Life is just flat and mundane- you made life interesting and an adventure. I'm so blessed that I got to be  your daughter for 46 years on this earth. But it wasn't nearly long enough. Dad, I imagine that the pain of missing you will never go away so long as I'm alive. But I know that our souls are eternal and I so look forward to seeing you again one day in Heaven. I Love your dad. Your daughter forever and always, Lisa

Dad, 

So much has happened, and yet still, I don’t believe that you aren’t going to be walking through my door with a Pepsi in your hand and a toothpick in your mouth any one of these days. I’m not sure when it will all sink in for me. There was an amazing celebration breakfast today in your honor. You would have loved it! The irony of today was that I kept thinking that I wished I had more time to spend with each person, and we all wished we had more time to spend with you. 

It is still very hard to see all of the people who loved you so dearly hurting. Maybe it is sinking in a bit, because the question “why” sometimes comes up in my head. But no matter what, I will remember the things that you taught me and the way you lived and loved. It was way too soon Dad, but you were the best Dad I could have ever asked for, and for that, I count myself as blessed.

P.S. I miss talking to you... the part where you talk too.

I will never get over losing my brother. He was a shinning light in my life the world has gotten  so much darker.  Life as I know it will never be the same.  I will miss his smile his laugh his wisdom and our long talks. How do you get over losing someone who’s so dear to your heart . My heart has broken into a thousand pieces. 
I love you Chris I will think of you everyday until I see you again.

Chris was truly one of the kindest men that I was lucky enough to call my uncle.  Always a happy guy - he had a beautiful smile and an unmistakable laugh that was contagious.  I have so many memories growing up with him, spending weekends at his house with Lisa,  and lots of time camping at the cabin.  Heaven gained a very special angel.  He will be greatly missed.

Chris was a lot more than an uncle.He helped look out for me all my life. He taught me a trade and a good work ethic and he was a big brother as well as a best friend.He will always be in my heart !

Family gathering will not be the same. Grandpa Davidter will be missed.  We know you will be there in spirit and your warmth will be felt and will bring comfort to family and friends.  With love Grandpa & grandma Kaatman..

All I can say is whenever Chris was around we all laughed and had a great time. He helped us by painting our cabin/home. Just so giving and always laughing.

My memories was his smile and laugh, those alone aways made me smile. He didn't have to say a word, his smile and laugh said it all...Such a nice guy.
