I was MS.  Braune favorite first student and she my favorite teacher My reall name is abby. But liked to be called fevzie my Bulgarian name.  It's been extremely hard on me because I didn't get go to her funeral.   She is the reason I learned roadrage. It's funny driving around with. . Lol just kidding. If I ever need help she was there right by side. She never gave up on me or anyone. I enjoyed doing ms. Braunes yard and I will for ever be great that she hooked me with some few gadgets.

Theresa was a dear friend in high school. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a huge heart! She was always lifting others up with her enthusiasm and love.  We kept in contact throughout the years. Her great love for people and animals was so evident in her teaching and rescue efforts . She simply was one in a million! I feel so blessed to have known her and will miss her joyful laugh! Theresa is an amazing soul. She was a good friend of my mother and she threw my mother's baby shower for me. I have very fond memories of Theresa when I was a little boy. 

We would go to the beach everytime Theresa would come down and visit us from Iowa. I distinctly remember going to Caladesi Island with Theresa a few times and everytime she would always get a great suntan.

Theresa was a defender and protector for the most vulnerable beings on this planet. Children with developmental disabilities and domesticated animals. 

Those that knew Theresa knew she had a HUGE heart. She was one of a kind everyone that knew her well loved her! I will miss Theresa dearly!



I met Theresa during our brief teaching days in Arizona. Fresh out of college, she was a real dynamo with amazing presence, humor and heart. Over the years, we'd visit and hit the beach when she spent time in Florida. Theresa was a beautiful human being. Rest in peace, precious friend.

Claudia and I remember Teresa from our college days, she was such a great gal we really enjoyed her company. We visited her several times in Ames and always had a good time. She will be greatly misses.

I remember Teresa as a happy, fun-loving person who was always interested in other people. She was a great friend. 

I remember Miss Braune from Ames High School.  She was such a wonderful person with a bubbly laugh!  I also met her a few times away from school.  She was so caring and compassionate.  The world has lost a beautiful lady! Peace and prayers to her family 🙏.

I could never say enough words in this world that could tell you how much Theresa meant to me! 

Theresa told me I just want people to remember me by being a kind person that just wanted to help where she could, when she could. 

Theresa was one of the easiest people I could talk to and could talk to her about anything. 

I enjoyed all my days with her and especially the kid stories she shared with us. I always told her she should write a children's book and in her last days she told me she should have! Thank you Theresa for all your love and time you gave to me!!! Love you forever more!!! Donna Weiss

I haven’t seen you much the past few years, but you always had a smile on your face and a funny story to tell.  I will never forget your nickname “Chickie”. ..,,,,,(which you probably hated”). Theresa  was  an inspiration to her students and all who knew her. She touched so many lives. She will be missed!

I will never forget all the great times in class and track meets and basketball meets. I will also remeber the love we share for great old music and animals

Dear Theresa

After receiving your sister's message saying that you have left us, my heart was broken. Tears flew in my heart.   I could not express my sad feeling with words.  Your smiling face has been always showing and your warming voice has been always sounding since I knew the sad news.   

I visited you a few times and brought you with Sesame Chicken you liked right after I returned to Ames for the last winter break.  I was worried very about you during the first few visits to you at your own home.  However,  you told me that "do not worry until I tell you starting to worry".  A  couple of days later,   you texted me that " I'm at Israel House in Ames, I'm dying."  I immediately returned to Ames to visit you several times with the meals you like most.  I was very painful to see your leaving.  However, you still managed to talk to me with very lovely and encouraging words, which will be unforgettable to me and my family.         

You have been my family's great friend for more than 16 years. We respect you very much due to your greatness in many aspects.  Since you  got cancer,  I have called you, email you and text you  many times (probably at least 1,000 times in last almost 6 years) for supporting you.  The strengths and powers you demonstrated during your fighting with cancer are uncomparable. I know these because I talked to you very often in different ways.  

You were a very great devoted teacher. You taught children with not only knowledge but also many other abilities.  You are very knowledgeable. I can never forget what I learned from you when you taught my son who was your student. 

You were such a lovely friend.  Your leaving is a huge loss to many people - I am very sure.  However, as your sister texted me -" gone but never forgotten".  You will stay in our hearts forever.
