Mary Elizabeth Gonzales Smith Collum, 94, born January 14, 1926, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Mobile, Alabama. Mary worked for the U.S. Government as a secretary for over nineteen years. She absolutely loved to cook and entertain her family. Mary also enjoyed cross-stitching, and was an avid student of the Bible. She delighted in attending church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Joseph Gonzales and Blossom Norah Wheeler Gonzales; first husband, Forrest G. Smith; second husband, Cecil Collum; and one brother, Robert J. Gonzales, Jr.
Mary is survived by her two children, Robert J. Smith (Janice) and Deborah S. Page (Sam); five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; twin sister, Rose G. McKaig; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
