Sissy is survived by her daughter Janice (James) Lucero, Pueblo, Colorado, her grandchildren Deidra (Mark) Rivera, New Mexico, Lori (Rich) Guerrero, Pueblo, Colorado, Jackie McGee, Parker, Colorado. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Briley, Braxton, Mary, Kyle, Connor, Hannah, and Dylan, and billet grandson, Milan, her sister, Francis Lindsey, Parker, Colorado; nephews Dane (Nancy) Medley and Dirk (Cathie) Medley, and nieces Diann Bandy and Lynn Grisham, and special friend, Mona Martinez.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Short, son Albert “Punky” Short, sister, Meryl Williams, nephew David Grisham, and several other family and loved ones.
Sissy was born March 14, 1922, in Beaver City, Nebraska. She was an exceptional woman who has left an incredible legacy. She was an extraordinary businesswoman, having owned East-West Bakery and Pueblo Sports Garden. She was an active member of Eagles Auxiliary, Rainbow for Girls, and Eastern Star. She was a member of the First Church of God and the “Block Captain” of Barrington Court.
She entered heaven on Mother’s Day after a short illness. As she received her wings and greeted her Lord, she heard Him say, “Welcome! Well done my faithful servant.”
She enjoyed reading, going to the hairdresser, Friday night at the Eagles, Sunday morning at church, dinners in the back yard, bird watching, and visiting with family and friends in her later years. She was a mother to many softball players and a friend to all.
