Norman Alfred Dyer Sr.

Norman Alfred Dyer, Sr., age 78 of Mt. Morris, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born on August 22, 1941 in Fenton to parents Alfred and Janet (Sharpe) Dyer. Norman proudly served in the US Army and was stationed at Loring AFB in Maine, Manheim, Germany, and Rapid City, South Dakota. He retired from MTA. Norman was an avid reader, loved history, and going camping. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Norman is survived by his best friend and faithful companion, Elvis; his loving wife of 55 years, Ann (Martlew) Dyer; children: Norman (Michelle M.) Dyer, Michelle Ann (Michael) Ruiz, and Kristen Sabin; daughter-in-law, Kim Dyer; son-in-law, Jeff Sabin; grandchildren: Allyssa (Alex), Jenna (Josh), Courtney, Tyler, Kyle (Natasha), Alexis, Camryn, Taylor, Ethan, Carlee, and Noah; great grandchildren: Mileena, Owen, Ava, and Lennon; brother: Allan (Melody) Dyer; step-sister, Jenny Kelly; and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; step-mother, Myrtie Dyer; son, John D. Dyer; grandson, Hunter Dyer; siblings: John C. Dyer and Arlene Koblasz. A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc. Visitation will take place Monday, October 7, 2019 from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday, from noon until the time of service. A private family graveside service will be held later. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
