11-13-1959/1-30-2019
In the beginning, he was known to all as Bobby/Bob to all of us. In later years he insisted that
everyone call him Robert. When one of his long ago friends learned that he wanted to be known
as Robert, well she just could not do it, and so for her, he is Bobby-Robert.
Robert was born in New York in 1959 to Robert Joseph Geiger Sr. and Mary Irene
Geiger. Robert had three siblings - Thomas Geiger, partner Mary McNabb, Jackie Geiger
Edwards, spouse Dan Edwards, niece Abbey, nephew Jake and Doreen Geiger Filosa, spouse
Rob Filosa, nephew Brent. Robert had two amazing sons Gregory and Matthew Geiger.
Robert graduated from NYU with a Bachelor’s in Economics.
Robert was an entrepreneur following in his father’s footsteps. Robert had a long career, he
started many businesses, became an amazing public speaker, and of course his beloved music
became his passion.
Outside of music, business and his family, Robert loved model airplanes. He truly enjoyed
working with his hands and all of the fine detailed work required building and flying model
airplanes. Robert was a member of the AMA, and flew with a local chapter here in NC, the
Flying Tigers.
Robert was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer 5 years ago in January 2019. Robert wrote about
much of his journey on this website - http://www.robertscancercure.com/
We all watched Robert transform his life in a matter of months. He refused to begin with any
standard treatment, did his own research and decided to get healthy before any other treatment
would start. With the support of Dr. Graham and Waverly Hematology Oncology, Robert began
his journey.
In a matter of seven months he dropped the excess weight, was running every day, and playing
racquetball 3 times a week. He was in the best shape of his life. He once stated that cancer gave
him his life back. He began a five year journey of reflection, healing, making and strengthening
relationships.
Robert’s final days were spent at Transitions Life Care Hospice facility in Raleigh, NC. We are
forever grateful for the love and support that poured in during Robert’s five days there. For this,
in lieu of flowers we would be honored if any donations go to Transitions Life Care Hospice
facility: https://transitionslifecare.org/donate/
Bravo Robert
You lived your life your way, on your terms and never looked back.
Bravo.
Rest in peace.
