John Birmingham, founder of Birmingham Funeral Home in Old Town, Maine, started with a simple philosophy in 1982: Treat each family with care, compassion and dignity. Today, this mission still guides us as we create personalized memorial tributes for those who mean so much to our community.

We begin by listening to you. Inspire us with stories from life such as a treasured collection curated over decades, dedication to a career that was more of a calling or the style of music that could always be heard wafting through the kitchen. We weave these elements into a personalized tribute. Imagine one last rousing game of bingo for the person who brought joy to the local hall, week after week. Envision a baseball-themed sendoff for the world’s biggest fan, including miniature monogrammed bats for guests to keep after the service. Whatever your wish, we will do our professional best to fulfill almost any request.

History

John Birmingham founded Kiley-Birmingham Funeral Home in Old Town, Maine, in 1982. Initially, Mr. Birmingham rented a house on South Main Street to be used as the funeral home, but in 1985, land was purchased and our funeral home was built at its current location on Main Street. In 1988, an addition doubled the size of the building. The funeral home's name was shortened 10 years later. Our locally-based team at Birmingham Funeral Home takes pride in being active in the community, working each day to make our town a better place to live.
