Maria Winchell

Maria Winchell age 89 of Spring Arbor, formerly of Albion passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Arbor Manor under the loving care of her family and Hospice. She was born May 2, 1927 in Zupanis, Poland the daughter of Andreas and Kalyna (Lapundiak) Szkodyn. She married Walter Winchell on August 27, 1955 and he survives.

Maria was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was very talented at many things, she was a great cook, loved bowling, knitting and gardening, both for flowers and vegetables.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, children, Kasimir (Pat) Winchell of Eaton Rapids, Irene (Richard) Morris of Raleigh, NC; 3 grandchildren: Lisa (Brian) Winchell-Caldwell, Amanda (Mark) Rushing, Nicole (Bryan) Finley; 6 great-grandchildren: John Winchell, Morgan Finley, Nathan Finley, Ainsley Finley, Madeline Rushing, Brooklyn Rushing and 1 great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 12 NOON at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion with Pastor Allen Henson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Albion Memory Gardens.
