Low, Louise Anderson. 5/1/1944 - 12/26/2015 Saline, Michigan. Louise Anderson Low, age 71, passed away on December 26, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Saline, Michigan, on May 1, 1944, the daughter of Harry Linné and Rose Josephine (Chvala) Anderson. Louise graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. degree in Biology, and she taught General Science for several years at Whitman Junior High School in Livonia, MI. On December 30, 1967, she married James Thomas Low, in Saline, and they shared almost 48 loving years together. Louise later became the proud mother to four children and then grandmother to three. Louise fiercely loved life and learning, and wanted to experience anything and everything that she could. Those who knew her well know that she did not often sit still. Louise loved to travel and see the world, visiting nearly 20 countries over the years. She dearly loved and celebrated her Swedish heritage; she was a member of several local Swedish clubs and visited her cousins in Sweden several times. Her favorite place to visit was the cottage that her father built on the shores of Lake Michigan in Manistee, MI, and she loved watching the beautiful sunsets over the water. She fostered her love for music as a founding member of the Saline New Horizons Band, playing E-flat Alto Clarinet. Most of all, Louise truly loved and treasured her friends. She forged dozens and dozens of great friendships in her years of active membership and leadership in numerous Saline/Ann Arbor area organizations, including the Sigma Kappa sorority at U-M, Waterman Alumnae Group, Travis Pointe Country Club, Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, the Conger Alumnae Group, various bridge groups and gourmet groups, and particularly, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) in Ann Arbor. Louise was predeceased by her beloved parents Harry and Rose, and her brothers Harry and William; she is survived by her sister Barbara Anderson-Kari. Louise is survived by her loving husband James (retired Emeritus Professor of Marketing for the Wayne State University School of Business), and her loving children: James William Low (Royal Oak), Eric Linné Low (Ypsilanti), Kari Louise (Donald) Orlandoni (Northville) and Kari’s children Donald Braden, Ryan James, and Reghan Anne; as well as by Antony Anderson Low and his wife Kate Shaw (Portage). Louise’s family wishes to thank Dr. Andrzej Jakubowiak of the University of Chicago Medical Center for his extraordinary efforts on Louise’s behalf. The family would also like to thank Dr. John C. Krauss of the U-M Medical Center for his outstanding care over many years. Visitation will be held at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. 4th Ave, Ann Arbor, MI on Sunday, January 3, 2016, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 1501 W. Liberty St, Ann Arbor, MI on Monday, January 4, 2016, at 10:00 AM, with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
