On Saturday, December 16th, Gayel B. Holt passed away peacefully in Pittsboro, NC. Her remaining child, Cathy Holt, her two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other family members and friends will miss her so.
Few people have had more true friends than Gayel did over her lifetime because of her huge, loving heart and endearing ways. She was a woman of deep faith and that comforted her throughout her life.
She was so vital, so full of life and energy that she was still tap-dancing at 80. Until Parkinson’s Disease and the death of her son Rick took it’s toll, she was so effervescent that she lifted the spirits of everyone around her.
If the most important question to ask at the end of life is, “Did I love well and was I well loved?”, then Gayel Holt passed from this life confidently exclaiming, “Yes!”
A Memorial Fund in her honor has been set up at Communities in Schools. P.O Box 903. Siler City, NC 27344. Gayel used to volunteer at this wonderful non-profit that connects at-risk-youth with community members.
A Memorial open house has been planned for her on January 6th from 1-5 pm at her daughters home in Pittsboro.
