She moved to Austin, Texas when she was in the 11th grade, and attended McCallum High School for two years. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Jarvis Gantt, and moved to California where they raised their three children. Faye enjoyed golfing and bowling, and loved playing bridge with her many friends. She also earned an associate's degree from De Anza College in California. After Jarvis retired in 1993, they returned to Texas. She started working at HEB and loved it, working there for 25 years until she passed away.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Ada May and Nolan Pierson; her husband of 59 years, Jarvis Gantt; daughter, Teresa Brice and brother, Nolan Pierson.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Gantt; son, Rusty Gantt; her grandchildren, Jeff Ahrens (wife Laurie), Joseph Brice, and Jackson Brice; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jameson Ahrens; her brother, James Pierson (wife Patt); sisters, Ada Hickman and Gayle Barnes; sister-in-law, Carolyn Pierson; brother-in-law, Robert Gantt (wife Betsy) and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service for Faye will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM at St John's United Methodist Church, 2140 Allandale Rd., Austin, Texas 78756.
