

A resident of Baton Rouge, died on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Silverado Memory Care in Kingwood, TX. He was 92 and a native of Louisville, MS. Mr. Ming was a veteran of the United States Navy and served on active duty during WWII. Visiting was held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Visiting continued at Jefferson Baptist Church on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 10:00am until religious services at 11:00am officiated by Pastor Tommy French. Interment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory following the services. Mr. Ming was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church for 50 years where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and in the TV Ministry. He was retired from Sonat, a division of El Paso Corporation where he was a Safety and Personnel Representative. He was an avid golfer with 8 holes in one to his credit. As a Volunteer Red Cross Instructor in CPR and First Aid, he was credited with over 2000 hours of service. He served as a Red Cross Volunteer and Co-Captain of the Red Cross team at the LSU football games for over 10 years. He was also a member of the Hamasa Masonic Lodge of Louisville, MS. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred McGaugh Ming; his parents, Oscar Sr and Mabel Turner Ming, and a brother, Harold Gene Ming. Survivors include daughter, Shirley Weidner and husband Mike of Porter, TX; son, Clyde Ming III and husband Gregory Stergin of Downingtown, PA; three grandchildren; Lesley Ming Zinn, Melissa Ming Wivell, and Michael Weidner; and two Great grandchildren, Parker and Gracyn Zinn; three brothers, Marion Rudolph Ming, Charlie Jack Ming, and Donald Dean Ming. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International or the Alzheimer's Association.
