

Gerald “Jerry” Tilton died peacefully on June 26, 2017 in San Francisco CA. He was 75 years old. A 2nd generation native San Franciscan, Jerry was born on June 24, 1942 to parents Albert Tilton and Inez (Licciardo) Tilton. Jerry grew up in the Day Street Park neighborhood of San Francisco graduating from St. Paul’s School and Archbishop Riordan High School. He also graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Following High School Jerry enlisted in the US Army serving bravely as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division for several years. After being discharged from military service he began employment with the San Francisco City and County Department of Park and Recreation retiring with nearly 40 years of service. Jerry was an active member of the San Francisco Park and Recreations Local 261 Labor Union. He was a volunteer with the Saint Anthony’s Foundation in San Francisco, and enjoyed getting away to his cabin in Guerneville, CA. Jerry is survived by his wife Celeste Barrios-Tilton, loving daughters Nicole and Seana Tilton (Richard Camp) and his grandchildren Lily and Michael Medina. He is also survived by his step children Eduardo Barrios, Christopher Jacobsen and Erika Poveda. A memorial service will take place on July 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church located at 3255 Folsom Street in San Francisco. There will be a reception at Celia’s Restaurant at 379 Gellert Blvd in Daly City at 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jerry’s life.
