Alvin (Al) Joseph Noterman, of Boulder, CO, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 11, 2021. He was 88. He was born on September 13, 1932, in Pipestone, MN. In 1953, he married Shirley Jean Kahler whom proceeded him in death in 1996. Together they had 7 children, Cherie Kerns (Randy), Ronald Noterman (Tiana), Randy Noterman (Sheri), Richard Noterman (Janet), Cindy Ray (Johnny), Robert Noterman (Gretchen), Connie Runnells (Tim). He had 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Al worked as a machinist for IBM from 1957 to 1966 in Rochester, MN, when his family relocated to Boulder. He continued to work for IBM until his retirement in 1988. After retiring from IBM, he worked for Intellistor and Benchmark for a number of years.
Al loved to travel to Las Vegas, watching NASCAR, bowling, collecting and restoring classic fords, hobby farming, machining, woodworking, and visiting with his numerous children and grandkids. Al was a very religious person and attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Boulder for over 50 years.
A visitation will be held at the Crist Mortuary, Boulder, CO, on June 20, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 21, 2021, at the Boulder Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
