Doris Cottingham DeJournett

Doris C. DeJournett, 92, of Brunswick, departed this life, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Gracemore Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 16, 2018 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery with Ray Ellis, P.J. Wiggins, Hal Strickland, Johnny Mavromat, Phil Flournoy, and Terry Harrison serving as pallbearers.

Born January 15, 1926 in Brunswick to the late Robert A. and Olive B. Cottingham, she was a lifelong resident of Brunswick. Mrs. DeJournett retired as an executive secretary from Dixie Paint and Varnish Company. She was also a member of The Secretaries Club for a number of years. Mrs. DeJournett was a charter member of Blythe Island United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John F. DeJournett, and a sister Annie C. Jones.

Survivors include two sons, Mike DeJournett and wife Sylvia of Loudon, TN, and Andy DeJournett and wife Wanda of Blythe Island, five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dori, Brandi, Jonathan, and Joshua, five great grandchildren, Issaac, Levi, Makenna, Michael, and Damon, and a nephew, Robert Jones.

Memorials may be made to Blythe Island Baptist Church, 170 Cut-Off Rd, Brunswick, GA 31523.
