Colin Earnest John Genders: loving husband, father, grandfather and friend; died peacefully on Thursday, July 29th, 2021, in Chilliwack, British Columbia at age 88 after losing his battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife, two children and four grandchildren, who will all dearly miss his keen wit and intellect, hilarious stories, and kind nature.
Colin was born near Coventry, England on Sept. 30, 1932. An only child, he grew up during World War II. After the war, and still a teenager, he joined the Royal Navy and served aboard a multitude of ships and submarines. Colin travelled the world during those navy years and his insights and stories would forever positively shape his own children’s outlook on life and entertain those lucky enough hear them.
With four years remaining in his naval career, he met and married his one true love and love of his life, his wonderful wife, Vee. Together, they continued their desire to see and experience new peoples and places. They lived in and travelled to many different locales around the world throughout their amazing 67 years together.
We have lost one of the good one’s in Colin. He will be very sadly missed by his family and friends, but his light and humor remain and those that loved him will never forget.
