She was born on June 16th, 1974 in Quesnel BC to Gary and Eleanor Haynes.
Karla is survived by her two boys Jayden and Ashton, partner Chris Murphy, father Gary, sister Sandra (Gerard Foley), brothers Sheldon Haynes (Theresa) and Darren Moran.
Karla was predeceased by her mother Eleanor, stepmother Patricia, grandmothers Edna Haynes and Opal Rye, grandfather Leif Rye.
Karla attended Maple Drive Elementary School in Quesnel BC until the family moved to Langley BC in 1986. In Langley, she attended Brookswood Secondary School until graduation, and then moved into a career in the automotive industry at Lordco Parts. Working at various locations at Lordco, she also resided for a time in Salmon Arm BC where she got to know her aunts, uncles and cousins better.
She moved back to the lower mainland, Chilliwack to be precise and met John Vandermolen who she married in 2002. From this marriage came two very handsome and smart boys Jayden and Ashton. As life rolled on, differences came about and Karla and John separated. She moved to Grande Prairie AB to be with her brother and family. Her excellent resume in the automotive industry quickly landed her a job at the local Mazda dealership, but she couldn’t stay away from her great friends in the Lower Mainland, so when Chris brought the opportunity to return, she took it excitedly.
Upon returning to Chilliwack, she took charge of Murphy Automotive and had a very busy life raising her boys and managing the business. Here she continued to make friends with her bubbly personality and endless courtesy. She was always looking for ways to help those in need.
She loved life and loved her boys even more. She will be greatly missed.
