Kayleigh is predeceased by her big sister Charlotte, who passed away on August 24th, 2017 and recently her Great Nana, Jessie.
Kayleigh, our sweet rainbow baby girl, was born on January 6th, 2019 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital weighing 4 pounds 10 ounces and 17.5 inches long. She stole our hearts from the very start. She spent a month in the NICU in Abbotsford due to her health issues. We were so excited to bring her home on Feb 4th, 2019 - a true miracle! She was surrounded by so much love, and we spent every moment we had together, making memories, celebrating holidays, and loving our new world as a family of four.
She spent time in and out of hospitals, due to her heart issues, seeing her dietitian and pediatrician regularly, and had an NG feeding tube for most of her little life to help her gain weight, so she could eventually have her heart surgery. Kayleigh had the most beautiful smile...a smile that would light up an entire room. She loved to greet her Daddy every time he came home from work after a long day, and was happy to cuddle with him, give him hugs and kisses, and sleep on his chest on the couch in our living room.
She was happy to spend time with her big brother Brayden, who was quick to entertain her with his little dog guitar, among other toys. He loved helping and holding Kayleigh, as well as watching her laugh and explore when she was playing about in her baby einstein jumper. He was a wonderful big brother.
Kayleigh loved spending time in our rocking chair in the living room with Mommy who would rub her back, share lots of cuddles, kisses, lullaby's and music from her favourite toy-- her pink glow worm and many feedings.
She was loved by our family dog Molly, who was always eager to share kisses and licks.
She also loved going to our local Family Parenting place in Agassiz with her Brother, Daddy and Mommy, to socialize and enjoy various activities. She loved everyone she ever met and greeted them with a huge smile - in true Kayleigh style.
When she learned to sit up, she loved being in the Grocery cart at the store to look around and playing at home with her teethers and toys.
Kayleigh loved to be held, and we loved every minute of it too. She loved to be rocked and Mommy rocked her softly in her arms for hours on end.
We enjoyed many fun day trips to Bellingham, the most recent was our annual Christmas photo together, and sadly the last of our precious family of four.
Kayleigh sadly got sick, and was admitted to hospital in Abbotsford, and then onto BC Children's in Vancouver, where she spent 32 days fighting for her life, from several viruses attacking her little lungs, from a rare genetic mutation called a Filamin A deficiency, of which there is no known cure thus far. She fought a hard battle that sadly could not be won. She is, and forever will remain our Warrior Princess -- Our little Wonder Woman who knew and had more strength, courage and tenacity than anyone we will ever know. Our sweet little Kayleigh girl is forever immortalized in our family, our minds, and our lives. She left imprints in our hearts and our memories and a void in her family that will always remain.
Kayleigh, you will be forever missed, and always and forever in our hearts. You and your big sister Charlotte will be our Guardian Angels in heaven together, for all eternity. We love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond.
Love always, your Mommy, Daddy & your Big Brother Brayden
