

A longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Dorothy was born in Big Spring, Texas on December 4, 1935 to Roy C. and Zaida Davis. She loved growing up surrounded by loving family including two fun loving brothers, wonderful grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in the ranching communities of west Texas.
She married Curvin W. Turner, Jr on December 3, 1951 and was blessed with two loving daughters. The Air Force gave the family the opportunity to travel, spending two years in Germany before moving to Colorado Springs in 1971.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling to lands as diverse as England, The Netherlands, Israel, and Germany, but loved visiting family in New Mexico and Texas the most. She loved creating scrapbooks of family memories, attending bible study, and volunteering at church. She enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her Sears’s retiree group and spending time with friends.
Dorothy passed away peacefully May 12, 2015 after a brief illness. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, her brother Roy C Davis Jr, and grandson Thomas Michael Sharkey Jr. She is survived by daughters Pamela (Sam) Mendoza, Barbara (Dustin) Johnston, granddaughter Donna (Brent) Caswell, grandsons Steven and Scott Johnston, her brother Robert F. Davis, and nephew Michael T. Davis.
A visitation for family and friends will be 9:00 AM, May 16, 2015 at Circle Drive Baptist Church followed by a memorial service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be May 23, 2015 at Montvale Cemetery in Sterling City, Texas.
